The Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineeers (SEEE) for the year 2018-19 was inaugurated at TRP auditorium, Easwari Engineering College, on 18/09/2018, tuesday. Speaking at the inaugural function, Chief Guest Mr Justin Jagadeep Kumar, Executive engineer/ Division Head, R and M of Thermal stations, TANGEDGO, spoke about the need for more power generation to meet the demand.
He said the overall installation capacity of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) was around 18,000 MW, but still there was a shortage of power. He said it was due to the shortage of fossil fuels and unrealised renewable energy production through wind and solar energy. He urged the student community conduct research to explore smart ways to increase power generation and reduce the power consumption.
He also explained about various job opportunities in TNEB.
Dr E Kaliappan, Prof and Head, EEE Department, welcomed the gathering, Annual report on the SEEE chapter for the academic year 2017-18 and activity plan for the academic year 2018-19 was presented by the SEEE president.
The office bearers were given their badges by Mr Justin Jagadeep Kumar.
College Principal Dr K.Kathiravan congratulated all the students for their excellent academic performance during academic year 2017-18 and encouraged the students to continue the same during forthcoming semesters.
